$50 in Free Groceries - Dallas Area only

UPDATE: Stephanie - I finally got around to posting the picture of my shopping excursion. All these grocery were free, including some great cloth grocery bags.

The Newflower Farmer's Market will be opening up a new location March 18, 2009. I went to the opening of their Plano location which was originally called Sunflower, but was later renamed because of another Texas store with a similar name. Sharon and I braved the cold and dodged the TV cameras as we waited for the store to open. We were given breakfast, a sunflower, a range of grand opening specials and best of all a grocery bag filled with $50 worth of free stuff. Also, all your groceries purchased on opening day (or at least in the morning) are put in reusable cloth bags. So with another store opening, I'm getting ready to brave the elements again, this time with my friend Lissa.

Here's the scoop:

The Dallas location's grand opening festivities begin at 6:30 a.m. in front of the store with complimentary breakfast items and a special garland cutting ceremony. The store is located at 1800 N. Henderson Avenue at Lewis Street.
Doors will open immediately after the garland cutting at 7 a.m. The first 200 customers on opening day will receive a FREE reusable shopping bag filled with Newflower's healthy groceries, valued at over $50, with any in-store purchase. Customers are encouraged to arrive early, as the line typically forms hours before the store opening at 7a.m.
Enjoy fun, food and great giveaways all day long, as well as free samples from virtually every Newflower department! Additionally, guests can enjoy complimentary chair massages to relieve tired muscles. From 11am to 6 p.m., the grill will sizzle for an on-site barbeque, featuring free samples of all-natural Harris Ranch beef.
